ADEAR Bouches-du-Rhône
Association for the Development of Agricultural Employment
An adear is an association that brings together farmers - for the most part members of the confédération paysanne [farmers’ union]  - and other stakeholders of the rural community with a common desire to share their experience and expertise helping to preserve and set up many farmers and to sustain the values of small-scale farming.
Â
The adear offers personalised support, helping newcomers to become established by:
- Individual skills assessment and training courses
- Defining personal, technical, economic and commercial projects
- Connections with professional farmers’ networks
- Finding land via a supply/demand directory
- Reporting on eligibility to grants (farming and/or others), preparing applications and/or directing people towards the appropriate organisations
- Assisting with administrative processes specific to the farming environment
- Personal follow-up after installation
- The adear also helps set up farmers’ markets
